Botox is a solution that is administered as an intra-dermal injection. It is similar to that of a purified and weakened neurotoxin called Botulin Type A. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Health Ministry of Russia have approved this product and method. Until recently it was used only in neurology, but since 1994 it has become widely used by specialists throughout Russia as a reliable procedure for cosmetic surgery. Despite the fact that Botox contains Botulin, a chemical toxin, it has not been known to cause any dangerous toxic reactions.

Botox is used on the small muscles right under the skin that cause wrinkles between the forehead, eyebrows, around the eyes, and above the upper lip. The solution is injected with the use of fine needles. This procedure is painless when used with a local anesthetic, which is applied to the surface of your skin. The solution begins to react after 7-14 days. Botox causes a weaker response on moving muscles allowing small, deep wrinkles, or «crow's feet», in the corners of the eyes, mouth, and furrows on the forehead to disappear permanently. Your skin becomes smooth & supple.

During the 6 months following the procedure, you will experience a vastly improved appearance. After the 6 months it may be necessary to repeat the procedure to gain the same results once again. It is recommended that the injection be performed 3 times a year for the best results.
